Amy Adams in full Amy Lou Adams (born August 20 1974 in Aviano Italy) American actress, especially noted for her critically-acclaimed performance of charming and naive characters. Adams was the youngest of seven siblings who grew up as a child in Colorado's Castle Rock. She was born while her father worked in the U.S. Military in Italy. The mid-1990s saw her begin dancing and performing professionally at Boulder's Dinner Theatre in Colorado and Country Dinner Playhouse. In the following year she was in Minnesota in a small local theatre she was chosen to be a part of a mock film documentary on beauty pageants titled Drop Dead Gorgeous. When she made her screen debut as a ditzy but good-natured contestant she moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She was the wife of the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 from September 1962 to June 1951 and the mother of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh was discovered through actress Norma Shearer Leigh signed a contract with MGM to launch her film career star in the late 40s. The actress portrayed Norma in several popular films through time, like Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho from 1960 and Living It Up, a Martin and Lewis film that was released in the year 1954.
