Richard B. Cheney is an American public servant, businessman as well as a politician. Cheney known as a popular figure in Washington politics, has served under four presidents of the US. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush selected Cheney in July 2000 to be his vice-presidential running partner, being impressed by Cheney's intelligence and judgement. Dick Cheney served as the chief of staff for the president, served as an elected member of Congress as well as secretary of defence. Cheney is a man with integrity whom is admired by Republicans as well as Democrats. Cheney believes that his job as a member of his position in the Bush administration is to be an open and discrete adviser. In accepting the Republican vice-presidential nomination Cheney declared that he's looking forward to serving with an administration that will strive to get things done by reaching across the partisan aisle and working with political opponents to achieve a mutual goals. Richard Bruce Cheney, son of Richard Herbert Cheney & Marjorie Lauraine Dickey was born on 30 January 1941 in Lincoln Nebraska. As a 13-year-old, Richard Bruce and his family moved from Nebraska to Casper (in Wyoming, the State of Wyoming) in Wyoming, where his father worked as the Director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's land conservation districts.
